The Globetrotting Malbec : Argentina VS Cahors

Hello everybody this week we have decided to talk about the Black wine : MALBEC !!

Catena Alta

Vintage : 2008

Grape Variety : Malbec 100 %

Country :  Argentina

Terroir :  Mendoza, between 3,018 and 4,757 feet

Tasting Notes

Appearance :  It's a nice red ruby wine with an intense brilliance

Nose : The nose is a perfect feeling of the Argentin Malbec Wine ! Jammy, toasted, everything you are looking for to have a NEW AND SENSATIONAL experience of  pleasure with an Argentinian Malbec  !

Palate : In the mouth, we can feel an amazing expression of Malbec in a hot climate. It has a very interesting taste and it is quite easy to drink. The most exiting part remains the fruit with a clear intensity and some notes of toasted and jammy (a little bit similar as you were smelling it).

Our Feeling at WAW Blog:
An interesting wine to drink with friends at a BBQ or Asados como se dice en Argentina !!!

Food & Wine Pairings :
We advice you to match this wine with a piece of beef, Chili con carne, or other grilled meats.

Where can you find it ? What about ?
At Cousin and Company wine shop (Bordeaux) for 15 €.

Les Laquets

Vintage : 2008

Grape Variety : Malbec 100 %

Country :  France

Terroir :  Cahors, South West of France

Tasting Notes

Appearance :  It is an extreme dark wine with a high intensity robe !!

Nose : Truffel, and Spicy, the nose develops intense black fruits flavours !

Palate : Very intense, it is a really well structured wine with lots of tannins ! It is a generous and intense wine which develops cherry and spicy aromas, with a clever oak barrel touch !

Our Feeling at WAW blog:
A full bodied wine with an interesting experience for your senses. Malbec was considered as a strong and old fashioned wine whereas tomorrow for example with this Laquets 2008 we are surprised of the kind of the new Cahors Malbec Generation like Mas Del Périé and Clos Troteligotte !

Food & Wine Pairings :
We advice you to match this wine with duck breast, Foie Gras, Cassoulet from
Toulouse, Omelette with Truffle of Lalbenque or with a huge sauce dish !

Where can you find it ? What about  ?
At Cousin and Company for 15 € or on the @ with a wine searcher.
