This is one of
the driest and sunniest part of the country, although frost may occur in the
spring and slow ripening conditions suitable for white grapes.
Marlborough
representation is inextricably linked to the Sauvignon Blanc which occupies 58%
of the surface and produces wines both aromatic and fresh.
Chardonnay and
Pinot Noir have also conquered an important place there, vinified in flat wines
or blended to make quality sparkling wines. Riesling, Semillon and Pinot Gris
are also significantly present.
